How integrations work

The connection model — for each integration.

ERP integrations (Accurate, Xero)

  • Connect via official API during pilot setup
  • Credentials stored encrypted — never shared
  • Records post only when a manager has approved
  • Account code mapping configured per workflow type
  • Source document attached to every posted entry
  • Sync failures flagged in portal for manual retry

Webhook / n8n integrations

  • Register your endpoint URL in workspace settings
  • Webhook fires on job approval or rejection
  • JSON payload with all fields and metadata
  • Subscribe to specific workflow types only
  • Retry logic built in for failed deliveries
  • Signed payloads available for verification
FAQ

Integration questions.

Do I need a developer to set up integrations?

No. ERP connections are configured through a guided setup interface — credentials, account code mapping, and entity selection. No coding needed for Accurate or Xero.

Can BoringOps connect to both Accurate AND Xero?

Yes. Multi-integration setups are supported. KAP partners often have clients on each. Each client workspace is configured independently.

What permissions does Accurate/Xero integration require?

Read access to chart of accounts (for mapping) and write access to create journal entries or bills. We use minimal required scopes — not full admin access.

Can we test integrations before going live?

Yes. Pilot setup includes a test phase where a small number of submissions go through the full flow before staff are onboarded. Nothing posts to production ERP until you confirm.
